FAQ
Why am I not showing up in AI answers if I rank in Google?
Because ranking and being recommended are different mechanisms. Search returns a list of pages; an assistant assembles a claim from sources it trusts, and those skew toward community threads, review sites, and comparison pages.
AI visibility tracking shows whether you are mentioned, cited, and positioned against competitors — not just whether a page of yours ranks. See What AI Visibility Is.
How do you track AI visibility without doing it manually?
We run your real prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other models on a schedule, then record mentions, position inside the answer, and cited sources for every run.
No manual checks, no screenshots, and the same prompts every period so the comparison holds.
Do results differ between ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other models?
Yes, often substantially. Each model has its own training data, retrieval behaviour, and source preferences, so the same prompt can return different brands.
That is why we track across models rather than sampling one — see Models.
How do I know if my AI visibility is actually improving?
Watch the trend across many runs, not a single check. Model outputs vary between identical queries, so day-to-day wobble is noise.
The reliable read is relative movement: your line against your competitors' over the same period.
Why is AI traffic not converting the way search traffic does?
AI traffic tends to arrive later in the journey. The assistant already answered part of the question, so the visitor is more informed and further along, and the raw session count means something different.
The value is being present in the answer when the shortlist forms, which shows up in pipeline before it shows up in clicks.
Why do my competitors show up in AI answers when I do not?
Models build answers from sources, not from your website alone. If your brand is missing from the threads, review sites, docs, and comparison pages that carry your category, you are not part of the material the model works with.
Citation analysis names those specific sources — see Find Citation Gaps.
Is this just another SEO tool?
No. SEO tracks rankings and clicks on a list of links. AI Search Console tracks what happens inside the answer: mentions, citations, position, and sentiment.
They are complementary. Strong SEO helps your pages exist and be crawled; AI visibility tells you whether that translated into being recommended.
Can I actually show this to clients?
Yes. Reports are built for client delivery: visibility trends, prompt coverage, competitor comparisons, cited sources, and recommended actions, exportable as PDF. See Client Reporting.
How long before I see a change after fixing sources?
Longer than a content update on your own site, because the model has to re-crawl or re-train before a new source affects answers. Keep prompts unchanged and measure over weeks rather than days.
