Personal Dictionary

The personal dictionary is how you fix that. Add the terms you use, and both transcription and the optional cleanup pass can resolve to them.

What is worth adding#

• Product and project names, especially invented ones.
• Library, framework and tool names.
• Internal service names and acronyms.
• Names of people you mention often.
• Domain vocabulary a general model would not weight highly.

The limit, and how you see it#

The speech model accepts only a limited number of terms before it ignores the rest.

Earlier builds sent the whole list without telling you, so a term could sit in your dictionary looking active while doing nothing. Since 1.1.0, any term that does not fit is marked not sent in Preferences.

Check that marker after a big addition. If your most important terms are the ones marked not sent, reorder or trim the list so they fit.

Cleanup and your dictionary#

Cleanup is allowed to correct a mis-transcription into a dictionary term. That is one of the three changes it may make, alongside removing filler and fixing punctuation. Anything beyond those and the cleaned text is discarded in favour of your original transcript. See Optional Cleanup.
