What it does#

  • Compose and reply. Write a message from an instruction, or answer the open one — quickly and confidentially.
  • Summarise. Turn a long thread into a short summary, with the response length you set.
  • Keep a personal tone. Ask for the register you want; the draft matches it rather than sounding generic.
  • Add context. Structured prompts let you tell the assistant what matters in this message before it writes.
  • Translate. Convert a message into the target language on the fly.
  • Proofread. Get a corrected, expanded or alternative version of text you wrote yourself.

What it needs access to#

The add-in can read and modify the contents of items in your mailbox and create new ones. In practice this means it can access the body, subject, sender, recipients and attachments of the message you are working on — which is what it needs to answer that message. What happens to that content afterwards is covered in What is stored and what is not: it is not retained.

A first task worth trying#

Open the longest unanswered thread in your inbox and ask for a three-sentence summary and a draft reply that asks for the two things still missing. It exercises reading, summarising and drafting in one go, and shows what the panel does with a real thread rather than a sample.

Limits worth knowing#

  • Prompts and tokens come out of your plan's monthly pool, shared with the other apps you use. Plans and pricing.
  • When you close the add-in, the session ends and the content is discarded. Copy a draft you want to keep into the message before closing.
