Frequently asked questions

What is R2 Copilot?

R2 Copilot is a privacy-centric, GPT-powered AI assistant for everyday business communications. It is available as an add-in for Microsoft 365 apps and as an extension for other services and applications. It uses current AI language models together with data-exchange protocols designed to keep interactions secure, fast and confidential.

What makes R2 Copilot different from other AI assistants?

Any content you compose and any prompt you enter while working with R2 Copilot is encrypted on your device and immediately deleted when you close the add-in. Your correspondence with the assistant stays private, rather than becoming material the model is improved on. How that works.

How does R2 work?

The interaction model is the ordinary one: you write a prompt, the assistant answers. There is no new interface to learn. What differs is what happens to the text in between — see How R2 keeps content private.

How does R2 keep my chats private?

Your communications with the assistant stay between you and the assistant. Information is encrypted in transit and at rest, and the assistant does not store chat history. What is stored and what is not.

Can I try R2 for free?

Yes. On the main page of the website, under Try for Free, select the application you want to activate the free version for. When the trial period ends you need a subscription to keep using the assistant. Plans and pricing.

Which apps is R2 available for?

Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote as Microsoft 365 add-ins, plus a Chrome extension, a Telegram bot and a web chat. The full table with store listings is in Supported apps.

Will R2 come to other services?

Extending the assistant to more services is a stated priority for the development team, and the list grows as versions for other platforms are built. The apps that work today are the ones listed in Supported apps.

Can I add users, tokens or prompts to my subscription?

Yes. Additional users, tokens and prompts are bought on top of an existing subscription and priced per plan — an extra seat runs from $20 on Group down to $11 on Enterprise, and an extra 200,000 tokens from $10 down to $6. The full table is in Plans and pricing.

What happens to my data if I stop using R2?

There is no conversation archive to remove, because chat history is not stored. Data held about your account can be deleted at any time, and you can delete your account. What is stored and what is not.

Is R2 Copilot GDPR compliant?

R2 does not store, collect or share user-generated content, and uses encryption to comply with a range of privacy regulations including GDPR, HIPAA and CCPA. What that covers and what to ask for during a vendor review is set out in Compliance and certification.
